Although much of Hue — tragically including most of Vietnam’s walled Citadel and Imperial City — was decimated during wars with the French and the Americans, there’s still much to see. And because of the damaged buildings, you’ll want to hit the temples with a good English-speaking guide who can bring the place back to life and offer some good background (otherwise you might see just walls and rubble).

The Phi Phi Islands got famous after the movie -the beach- with Leonardo de Caprio was filmed here. were hard hit by the tsunami but have returned to normal completly. The ships to Phi Phi Island leave everyday at around 8.30 am from Rasada Pier on Phuket Island Thailand. MORE at http://www.thailandsouthern.com
Famous Phi Phi islands group consists of Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Lae and Ko Yung (Mosquito Island). Not too many years ago, the only inhabitants were Muslim fishing communities who lived in small villages in these parts. Because of the attractive environment, the area was developed into an international tourist destination. The Phi Phi islands were a location for the movie The Beach with Leonardo di Caprio, especially Maya Beach where the film crew planted some palm trees, there are no palms as you can see. Which resulted into an outcry of some Thai protesters who were mainly techers who send their
minor aged students who had no idea whats going on to protest, pure manipulation but a welcome to the press.
